    radios they are isolated from ICS
  • Either Pilot or Co-Pilot can be isolated
  • Press both Pilot and Co-Pilot isolation buttons
    to select CREW

CAP Specific Installation
  • We have two GMA 1347 audio panelscenter panel
    for pilot right panel for observer
  • Only the TEL button is interconnected
  • May need to use manual squelch on right panel for
    good MIC opening
  • It is possible with two panels to transmit on two
    VHF radios simultaneously but you should not do
    so. Critical communication may be blocked
  • Simultaneous transmission on VHF and CAP FM is OK

Note for Observers
  • PFD is hands-off area for Observers
  • MFD is community property
  • Changing Frequencies on the MFD changes those on
    PFD as wellthis requires coordination!!
  • When Pilot switches audio selections, Observer
    must notice and make corresponding change or he
    will miss what pilot is transmitting

Notes for Observers
  • All navigation changes (Direct To, Flight Plan,
    etc.), must be coordinated with pilot before
    change is made
  • When primary flight instruments appear on MFD,
    either a failure has occurred or the pilot has
    pressed the Reversionary button on his audio
    panel
  • When this happens, let pilot decide what to do
    next

Display Cleaning
  • Try not to touch the displays with fingers
  • When displays must be cleaned, use only dedicated
    micro-fiber wipe cloth
  • Do NOT use cleanersuse only the micro-fiber
    cloth
  • Cleaning before each flight is recommended
  • Clean gentlydo not press hard on screen

Flight Plan Functions
  • Flight Planning is a page group selected by
    pressing the FPL key
  • Rotate the small FMS know one click clockwise to
    select the Flight Plan Catalog
  • Entering waypoints in a flight plan is similar to
    the Direct To function
  • Flight Plans must be saved or the active flight
    plan will be lost when another is selected
