Introduction
Did you know that Austria has a population of
over 8 million people? In my report I will talk
about their history, the land, the people, and
some interesting facts.

History
In 1740 Austrias king Charles died. For
hundreds of years, the history of Austria and of
central Europe was really the history of a
family, named the Hapsburgs. The German princes
chose Rudolf to be emperor.

Land
The capital of Austria is Vienna its in the
middle of Austria and its very beautiful. It
snows up in the mountains there. Austria is
wedged in between seven different countries. Two
of them are Switzerland and Lichentenstein. And
lots of people like to ski.

People
The people of Austria like to dance, and it
looks like theyre all from different worlds. In
Austria most public schools are free, but some
choose private schools. In Austria some adults
cant read or write. Most people in Austria play
curling. It is a game like hockey.

Interesting Facts
One interesting bird is the Scarlet Marcraw.
Austria has a lot of sea life and bird life.
Food is very important to the Austrians. The name
of Austrias National Anthem is Land der Berge,
Land am stroem that means Land of Mountains,
Land on the River.
