Tornadoes

2
What is a Tornado?
  • A tornado is a vortex of rapidly moving air, in
    an area.

3
How are Tornadoes Produced?
  • Tornadoes are produced by differences in air
pressure. When the high pressure and low pressure
meet they can create fast moving air which can
    create a Tornado.

4
When and Where do Tornadoes occur in the U.S.A.?
Tornadoes occur mostly in the south and the
southeast. They occur during April, May, June,
July, and August
5
How are Tornadoes Classified?
  • Tornadoes are classified by winds. The winds get
to be at a high speed which makes it low
    pressure.

6
Why are Tornadoes Considered Severe Weather?
  • Tornadoes are considered severe weather because
the high winds on the outside of your house
create low pressure while it creates low air
pressure inside your house. Low pressure likes to
go to high pressure which causes the roof to pop
off because the low pressure is trying to get to
    the high pressure.
