Cryo-EM Dictionary Proposal--March 2005
This is a proposed dictionary of data items
describing cryo-EM experiment and structure that
has been developed as a collaboration between the
Computational Center for Biomolecular Complexes
(C2BC) and the RCSB Protein Data Bank
(RCSB-PDB). History Oct. 2004 At the
Cryo-Electron Microscopy Structure Deposition
Workshop held at the Protein Data Bank in
Piscataway, NJ, the current cryo-EM CIF
dictionary, mmcif_iims dictionary v.002 (4/2004),
was reviewed. Recommendations of experts in the
cryo-EM field for desired definitions were
obtained. Dec. 2004 In response to these
recommendations, a revised dictionary was
prepared mmcif_iims dictionary v.005 (12/2004).
The revisions were originally encoded by Kim
Henrick and subsequently revised by John
Westbrook and Matthew Baker. Feb 2005 The
v.005 dictionary was carefully reviewed by Cathy
Lawson and Matt Baker, and additional changes
were recommended. This powerpoint presentation
summarizes the resulting dictionary proposal.
All changes from the v.002 (4/2004) dictionary
are highlighted according to the key presented on
the following page.
