End User Requirements
  • The end user requirements for the SSEM software
    have not changed since the last school year.
  • The current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader is
    7.0.5. for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
    (Help/About Adobe Reader 7.0)
  • Please refer to the End User Requirements handout
    if you have any questions.

Error Reporting
  • Click on the ProgressBook logo at the top of the
    SSEM homepage.
  • This will send an email to the SSEM support team.
  • See handout.

Release Notes July 2006
  • Grade Level on PR07P1. Update to the
    PR-07-Pg01 (IEP) STEPS 1 AND 2 - Future
    Planning/Performance page. The students grade
    level is now a dropdown menu that can be
    modified. Previously the grade level was set when
    the form was initially created and could not be
    modified.
  • Districts on Form Wizard View. Corrected issue
    where the District of Residence/Service not
    pre-populating correctly in Form Wizard view.

  • 3. Pasting from Word to SSEM. Corrected issue
    with pasting text into a PDF. If the text
    contained apostrophes then text after the first
    apostrophe was not saved
  • 4. (-1) Values. Corrected issue which could
    cause -1 values to appear in dropdown menus.
  • 5. Student Address Changes. Corrected issue
    where student address changes were not reflected
    on the forms after change was made. Now, once
    address change has been made in student package
    (SIS, DASL, eSIS) it will pull correctly on new
    forms and update all proposed forms except for
    PR02 invitation forms. Invitation forms will not
    update since the parent address field on these
    forms is modifiable.

  • 6. Grade Level different in views. Corrected
    issue where a students grade level may display
    differently on PDF View, Forms Wizard view or
    Print Merge for the same form. Now students
    grade level is displaying consistently across all
    form views.
  • 7. Delete Form in Form Wizard View. Added
    'Delete Form' button to the Form Wizard view so
    users with Delete Form access will be able to
    delete forms in both PDF and Form Wizard views.
  • 8. Revised Finalization Process. Enhancement to
    finalization process for IEP/EMIS Set so that if
    no proposed form(s) exist for a required form,
    user will be prompted to either pull the missing
    forms from the previous finalized packet or to
    create new Proposed versions of the missing
    forms.

  • 9. Banks Goals, Objectives, Accommodations.
    Added SSEM Banks for goals, objectives, and
    accommodations for populating information on the
    goals and testing pages. Banks can be set up for
    both district-wide and individual users.
  • 10. EMIS Tools. Enhancement to the EMIS tools
    section to create EMIS Review Report and Data
    Collection Form
  • 11. Print Merge Label. Change to the User
    Options bar so Merge icon now states Print
    Merge to better clarify function to users.

  • 12. Revision to Edit Form screen. Change to
    Create New Page button on Edit Form screen so
    button now states New Page. Now, when opening
    a form to edit, user has option to select New
    Page or View Page. On form naming screen
    buttons have been changed to Create New Blank
    Page or Create from an Existing Page to better
    clarify action to users.
  • 13. View Forms Finalized Set Types. Change to
    Finalized Set Types value District Required Set
    to IEP/EMIS Sets and Non-District Sets to
    Other to better reflection the set type
    selection on the Finalization screen.

  • 14. Auto save on Progress Report. Creating a
    PR07P2 Goals page automatically creates a
    Progress Report, as it did in previous SSEM
    versions. Now, users do NOT have to open
    Progress Report to save data before Merge or
    Finalize. Fields that populate from Goals page
    to Progress Report will automatically save.

SSEM Information Banks
  • The purpose of the information bank is to allow
    staff members to reuse common phrases or text
    when filling out the forms.
  • This reduces grammatical and spelling errors as
    well as decreasing time needed to fill out a
    form.
  • (Note All objectives from the existing system
    will be placed in an Imported Objectives
    category in the SSEM Objectives Bank for each
    user.)

  • The new system allows information on the

  • Benchmarks or short term objectives
  • Goals section
  • Accommodation section
  • Testing Page
  • Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Citizenship

Three levels of Bank
  • The Information Bank is divided into three
    levels
  • Bank
  • Example SSEM Accommodation
  • Category
  • Example Environment Accommodation
  • Item
  • Example Adaptive Furniture

Bank
  • Banks are the highest level and consist of
  • SSEM Goals Banks
  • SSEM Objectives Banks
  • SSEM Accommodations Banks

Categories
  • Categories are the grouping level directly below
    banks.
  • Multiple categories can be associated with a bank
  • There are to types of categories
  • District Categories created and maintained by
    the admin and associated with one or more
    buildings in the district
  • Staff Categories created and maintained by the
    user

Items
  • Items are pieces of text that are reused and
    populated on a form.
  • Admin can create/modify items in District
    Category.
  • Staff members can view and use items in District
    Category but cannot edit them
  • Staff members can create/modify items in their
    own Staff Categories.

District Bank Page
  • This page is accessed on the SSEM Admin homepage
    by clicking Set-up District Bank link.
  • This page contains two sections
  • Grid of categories associated with a bank
  • Grid of items in the selected category

District Category Section
  • The District Category Section consist of the
    following components
  • Category Name
  • Schools
  • View Items
  • Choose Bank
  • Add New Category
  • Save Categories

District Items Section
  • The Items section allows admin to quickly see all
    of the Items in Category and delete items and
    includes these components
  • Description
  • Alias
  • Edit Item
  • Delete
  • Add New Item

Staff Bank Page
  • This page is accessed from the SSEM homepage by
    clicking on the Setup Option Link and Edit Bank
    link.
  • Grid of categories associated with a bank
  • Grid of items in the selected category

Staff Category Section
  • The Staff Category Section consist of the
    following components for both District and Staff
    Categories
  • Category Name
  • Order
  • Hide
  • View Items
  • Delete
  • Choose Bank
  • Add New Category
  • Save Categories

  • The Items section allows the user to quickly see
    all of the Items in Category and delete items and
    includes these components
  • Description
  • Alias
  • Edit Item

Edit Item Page
  • This page is popup window that is launched from
    either the District Bank or Staff Bank page by
    clicking edit item link
  • This page allow the users to view the contents of
    all Categories in a Bank. Items can be created,
    modified, and associated with other Categories.
  • This functionality is the same for both admin and
    staff members

Bank Import Page
  • The Import Bank Page is located in the top right
    hand corner of both the PDF View and Forms Wizard
    View.
  • This button will only appear on goals and testing
    page.
  • Goals version will allow the user to access the
    goals, objectives, accommodations bank as well as
    the indicators.
  • Testing version allows the user to access the
    accommodations bank for reading, writing, math,
    science, and citizenship sections.
