  • Tools Management, Selection and Control
  • Students should be able to use all tools
    required in the course
  • Frequently used tools should be placed near the
    work area
  • Tools should be managed and arranged
  • Tools in the same set, colors and sizes should be
arranged according to group for easy
    identification
  • Tools should be kept clean and attractive
  • The method of storing tools used should be able
to prevent tools from being damaged too quickly
  • Damaged tools should be repaired or replaced
    immediately

  • Steps in Planning Tool Purchase
  • Analyze the curriculum needs
  • Identify the number of students that need to use
the same tools at the same time
  • Identify the frequency of using a tool for a
    specific work
  • Identify the possibility of using tools
  • Identify the number of students enroll in the
training program for the particular semester
  • Identify the estimated of students mistakes and
    amount of wastage

  • Tool and Equipment Selection
  • Tools safety is recognized by responsible parties
  • Tools of high quality not tools to fulfill
    quantity
  • Tools and machines should be comparable to those
    that use in industries
  • Tools that fulfill the needs of home life and
    work life in future
  • Budget
  • Tools should fulfill needs and economical

  • Quantities and Units
  • Charge is measured in coulomb (Q). The coulomb
is defined as the quantity of electricity which
flows past a given point in an electric circuit
when a current of one ampere is maintained for
one second. One coulomb is the total charge of
    6.25 x 1018 electrons.
  • Current is the rate of movement of charges from
one point to another in particular of time.
Current is measured in a unit called ampere (A).
One ampere is equivalent to the number of
electrons having a total charge of one coulomb
flow through a point in one second.
  • Voltage is the potential energy that causes the
current to flow in a circuit. One volt is one
joule per coulomb. The unit of electric potential
    is the volt (V).
  • Resistance the unit of electric resistance is
the ohm where one ohm is one volt per ampere. It
is defined as the resistance between two points
in a conductor when a constant electric potential
of one volt is applied at the two points produces
a current flow of one ampere in the conductor.
  • Power is the rate of doing work or transferring
energy. The unit of power is the watt (W) where
one watt is one joule per second.
  • Energy is the capability to do work in time.
Energy is measured in joule. One joule is
equivalent to one watt in one second.

  • Direct current (DC) is the flow of current in
one direction. A basic direct current circuit
consist of a DC source voltage source, a switch,
    a conductor and load.
  • Alternating current is a type of current that
changes its direction constantly according time.
The change of flow is due to the change in
polarity of the AC voltage generator.
