The Parable of the Ten Virgins(Matt 251-13)

• Ten Virgins represent those that are in the
  Kingdom of Heaven

Five Wise Virgins Prepared
Five Foolish Virgins Unprepared
They knew what they needed. They were prepared
and watched
They thought they were in a safe situation, until
it was too late. They probably thought that the
wise virgins were probably too zealous!

The Parable of the Ten Virgins(Matt 251-13)

• Cant be prepared by someone else
• (Vs. 8-9)
• They were reminded of the proper way of gaining
  oil
• Must watch and be prepared
• (Vs. 13) Watch therefore, for you know neither
  the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man
  cometh.

We must be Prepared!

• (Heb 928) So Christ was once offered to bear
  the sins of many and unto them that look for him
  shall he appear the second time without sin unto
  salvation.
• (2 Tim 48) Henceforth there is laid up for me a
  crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the
  righteous judge, shall give me at that day and
  not to me only, but unto all them also that love
  his appearing.

We must be Prepared!

• (Matt 2437-39) But as the days of Noah were, so
  shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For
  as in the days that were before the flood they
  were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in
  marriage, until the day that Noah entered into
  the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and
  took them all away so shall also the coming of
  the Son of man be.

To Be Prepared, You Must Be in The Kingdom

• (John 33) Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
  except a man be born again, he cannot see the
  kingdom of God.
• How can we be born again?
• (John 35) Except a man be born of water and of
  the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of
  God.

(Rom 63-4) Know ye not, that so many of us were
baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his
death? Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of
life.

Newness of Life Child of God

• (Gal 324-29) Wherefore the law was our
  schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we
  might be justified by faith. But after that
  faith is come, we are no longer under a
  schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God
  by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as
  have been baptized into Christ have put on
  Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is
  neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor
  female for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And
  if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed,
  and heirs according to the promise.

Justification by faith comes by obedience to God

• (Matt 721) Not every one that saith unto me,
  Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of
  heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father
  which is in heaven.

Must Be A Child of God to be Prepared to Meet Thy
God

• Are you A Child of God?

To Be Prepared we Must Live Faithfully and Watch

• (Rev 210) Be thou faithful unto death, and I
  will give thee a crown of life.
• We must live faithful
• The five foolish virgins were in the kingdom but
  not faithful

To Be Prepared we Must Live Faithfully and Watch

• (2 Peter 15-9) And beside this, giving all
  diligence, add to your faith virtue and to
  virtue knowledge And to knowledge temperance
  and to temperance patience and to patience
  godliness And to godliness brotherly kindness
  and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these
  things be in you, and abound, they make you that
  ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the
  knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that
  lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see
  afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged
  from his old sins.

Virtue

• Moral Duties
• (James 127) Pure religion and undefiled before
  God and the Father is this, to visit the
  fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to
  keep himself unspotted from the world.

• Spiritual growth in studying the word of God
• (2 Tim 215) Study to shew thyself approved unto
  God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
  rightly dividing the word of truth.

• Self-Control
• Christians must be able to control themselves
• (James 47) Submit yourselves therefore to God.
  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

• Contentment
• Content with what we have
• Content with our present situation
• (James 12-4) My brethren, count it all joy when
  ye fall into divers temptations Knowing this,
  that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye
  may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Godliness

• Spirit of Reverence Building on Sound Doctrine
• Respect to God and His will
• Spirit of good conversation
• An upright and good living
• (1 Tim 47-8) But refuse profane and old wives'
  fables, and exercise thyself rather unto
  godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little
  but godliness is profitable unto all things,
  having promise of the life that now is, and of
  that which is to come.

Brotherly Kindness

• Kindness for our fellow brothers and sister
• (Rom 1210) Be kindly affectioned one to another
  with brotherly love in honour preferring one
  another.
• Kindness and goodwill toward all mankind
• (Matt 543-44) Ye have heard that it hath been
  said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate
  thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your
  enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to
  them that hate you, and pray for them which
  despitefully use you, and persecute you

Charity

• Love agape
• (John 1726) And I have declared unto them thy
  name, and will declare it that the love
  wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and
  I in them.
• The love between the Father and Son
• (John 316) For God so loved the world, that he
  gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
  believeth in him should not perish, but have
  everlasting life.

Are we Prepared to Meet God?

• (2 Pet 110) Wherefore the rather, brethren,
  give diligence to make your calling and election
  sure for if ye do these things, ye shall never
  fall
• If we continue to grow in these things we will be
  prepared
• If you are not a child of God you can not even
  hope to be prepared
