Title: Heartfelt Worship to Our Great God
1- Heartfelt Worship to Our Great God
2 Exodus 346-7 And the LORD passed by before him,
and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful
and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in
goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and
that will by no means clear the guilty visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children,
and upon the children's children, unto the third
and to the fourth generation.
3 Psalms Romans Ephesians
4 Romans 1133 O the depth of the riches both
of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how
unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past
finding out!
5 One of the most difficult tasks for the
Bible student is any attempt to discuss, with
great precision, the attributes of God. The
divine qualities are so infinite, and our own
minds so finite, that we scarcely can fathom the
Creators marvelous features (Wayne
Jackson, Does God Limit His Own Foreknowledge?,
July 19, 2000)
6- Psalm 258
- Good and upright is the LORD therefore will he
- teach sinners in the way.
- Romans 24
- Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and
- forbearance and longsuffering not knowing that
- the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
- Psalm 321
- Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
- whose sin is covered.
7 5 They will speak of the glorious splendor of
your majesty, and I will meditate on your
wonderful works. 6 They will tell of the
power of your awesome works, and I will
proclaim your great deeds. 7 They will
celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully
sing of your righteousness.
8 Psalm 1451-10 1 I will exalt you, my God the
King I will praise your name for ever and
ever. 2 Every day I will praise you and
extol your name for ever and ever. 3 Great is
the LORD and most worthy of praise his
greatness no one can fathom. 4 One generation
will commend your works to another they
will tell of your mighty acts.
9 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love. 9 The LORD is
good to all he has compassion on all he has
made. 10 All you have made will praise you, O
LORD your saints will extol you.
10 Ps 11968 Thou art good, and doest good teach
me thy statutes. Psalm 348 O taste and see that
the LORD is good blessed is the man that
trusteth in him.
11 Ephesians 24 But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us Psalm
865 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to
forgive and plenteous in mercy unto all them
that call upon thee.
12 Ephesians 27 That in the ages to come he
might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in
his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
13Grace Unmerited Favor
Friendly disposition on the part of the Giver.
Gratitude on the part of the receiver.
14Psalm 8615 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of
compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and
plenteous in mercy and truth. Psalm 8411 For
the LORD God is a sun and shield the LORD will
give grace and glory no good thing will he
withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm
1038 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to
anger, and plenteous in mercy.
15 Romans 923 And that he might make known the
riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy,
which he had afore prepared unto glory Ephesians
316 That he would grant you, according to the
riches of his glory, to be strengthened with
might by his Spirit in the inner man
16Psalm 191 The heavens declare the glory of God
and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm
81 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in
all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the
heavens. Psalm 1085 Be thou exalted, O God,
above the heavens and thy glory above all the
earth
17 Worship proskuneo From two words
1. toward
2. to kiss
18 The idea portrayed by the word worship is
Gods children blowing Him a kiss. Our worship
is to be heartfelt and sincere.
19 While it is the case that we are not privy to
all of the complex determinations and workings of
Deity, we can savor enough of them, by means of
Scripture, to be filled with a sense of wondera
feeling of awe so profound as to motivate us to
surrender all to the will of our Creator. May we
be reminded of this need frequently (Wayne
Jackson, The Thrilling and Mysterious Was of
God, January 5, 2005).
