Title: ENGINEERING PHYSICS
1ENGINEERING PHYSICS
2ARE YOU INTERESTED IN
Designing and working with lasers to solve
problems in medicine? Building nano-electronic
devices? Implementing the future energy
generation systems of Ontario?
Welcome to Engineering Physics
3WHAT IS ENGINEERING PHYSICS?
Understanding of and designing with very small
objects such as electrons, photons and neutrons.
Application of the modern era of physical
science.

16BREAKING MYTHS ENG PHYS IS TOO HARD
Statistics show that there is a strong
correlation between a students cumulative grade
at the end of year 1, with their cumulative
grade at the end of subsequent years in
Engineering Physics.
Those students who do well in first year Math
and Physics tend to excel in Engineering Physics.
17BREAKING MYTHS ENG PHYS IS FOR RESEARCH OR
GRAD SCHOOL
Eng Phys is excellent preparation for graduate
school, BUT 10 of Eng Phys students go on to
graduate school. The rest go on to find jobs.
18BREAKING MYTHS THERE ARE NO JOBS IN ENG PHYS
After graduation, Eng Phys grads play key roles
in such industries as Consumer products
(optoelectronic and microelectronic
devices) Sensor systems Automated processing and
fabrication systems Biomedical equipment The
production of medical isotopes Laser
machining Electronic packaging Power
generation Many other industries
