Title: Agilent MSO6032A MixedSignal Oscilloscope

Agilent MSO6032A Mixed-Signal Oscilloscope
Quick Reference Guide
Main Controls
The most often used buttons are listed below.
Many buttons bring up softkeys below the display.
These are also discussed. Note that some
numeric values and list options are modified
using the small rotary dial to the left of the
Marker key group following selection of a menu
item with the buttons. Others are modified by
repeatedly hitting the softkey to toggle values.
  • Save/Recall To restore all settings to a known
state, hit the Save/Recall button and then the
resulting Default softkey below the screen.
(Yes, yes, yes you can use AutoScale, but this
button does not restore all important settings
and is much abused in general. Leave it alone!
    Use your brain instead -)
  • Vertical Controls Pressing the 1 or 2 keys
repeatedly toggles the respective channels on and
off. These keys also bring up a softkey menu
that allows changing the input Coupling Mode
between AC and DC. Vertical sensitivity and
offset is controlled with the large and small
    rotary knobs respectively.
  • Horizontal Controls Knobs are provided for
varying time/division and screen position. Note
that the deep-memory MegaZoom feature of the
scope allows you to zoom in on a waveform with
the time/div knob even after it is frozen with
    the Run/Stop or Single keys.
  • Run/Stop and Single The Run/Stop key toggles
between real-time display and stored waveform
display. The Single key sets up to capture one
    sweep following the next trigger.
  • Trigger Controls Use the Edge key to bring up a
softkey menu where the trigger source (channel 1
or 2) can be selected. Use Mode/Coupling to
access the triggering mode softkey options
either Auto or Normal. Normal will wait until
the next trigger event, keeping the screen
inactive if no trigger arrives. Use the rotary
knob to control the trigger voltage level.
  • Math Allows access to functions like FFTs
  • QuickPrint Writes the current display graphics
to a memory stick in the USB port immediately
when pressed if properly configured via the
    Save/Recall button and Formats softkey.

Overview
  • The MSO6032A is a 300 MHz bandwidth dual-channel
digital oscilloscope combined with basic 16
    channel logic analyzer capabilities.
  • The scope features a 2Gs/s sampling rate and a 1
MB deep memory which help to avoid aliasing
problems. Analog-like controls and emulation of
phosphor persistence further improve ease of use
    and versatility.
  • The main vertical sensitivity and offset controls
and the horizontal timebase can be varied with a
quick turn of the appropriate knob, while the
display can be frozen using the Run/Stop and
Single buttons. Pictures of the screen can be
captured onto a USB memory stick via the
    front-panel receptacle.
