website designed to help your loved ones in a
thought provoking, personalized way with a
message of concern via e-cards and
video. Mission Statement Concernity.com was
founded by a teacher that focuses on giving
parents and loved ones relevant, thought
provoking, and innovative media options intended
to educate students about the dangers and
seriousness of the issues they face in their
lives. We believe that helping students is a four
dimensional approach.

• Parents - Make the difference- Concernity gives
  you tools to stay relevant and keep open
  communication with your student.
• School/Education - Concernity provides the
  schools with the media and contents students will
  understand. No lecture/ just effective
  communication.
• Media - Concernity believes students must be met
  in the area they are in and feel most comfortable
  with.
• Peers - By educating students as a whole, one
  students decision can save the life of others.

Two Videos

• Our video and e-cards are generally less than a
  minute and a half and are very direct, eye
  catching, and straight to the point. Our videos
  are designed in a way to grab the viewers
  attention and create a lasting impact.
• Parents and students do not have to go looking
  through a sea of information on the internet,
  Concernitys videos and information are delivered
  by you to your person of concern. Videos can be
  set up on a delivery system, where you could send
  your son/daughter a video on the dangers of
  drinking and driving once a month or weekly.
• Videos and cards can be customizable to fit the
  needs of your institution. (Example-Send short
  video on tailgating policy).

Alcohol Awareness

• Death 1,700 college students between the ages of
  18 and 24 die each year from alcohol-related
  unintentional injuries, including motor vehicle
  crashes (Hingson et al., 2005).
• Injury 599,000 students between the ages of 18
  and 24 are unintentionally injured under the
  influence of alcohol (Hingson et al., 2005).
• Assault More than 696,000 students between the
  ages of 18 and 24 are assaulted by another
  student who has been drinking (Hingson et al.,
  2005).
• Academic Problems About 25 percent of college
  students report academic consequences of their
  drinking including missing class, falling behind,
  doing poorly on exams or papers, and receiving
  lower grades overall (Engs et al., 1996 Presley
  et al., 1996a, 1996b Wechsler et al., 2002).

• Every day in the United States alone,
  approximately 3,000 kids under the age of 18
  start smoking.
• Every day 1,200 Americans die from
  smoking-related illnesses.
• Teen smokers get sick more often than teens who
  dont smoke.
• Teen smokers have smaller lungs and weaker hearts
  than teens who dont smoke.

Drinking Driving

• Over 6000 people died in 2002 from
  underage-drinking-related causes (alcohol-related
  traffic fatalities, homicides, suicides, and
  other unintentional injuries).  Over 2200 of
  these were alcohol-related traffic fatalities.
  (Hingson and Kenkel, 2003)
• According to data from the National Highway
  Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in 2005,
  16,885 people were killed in alcohol-related
  crashes - an average of one almost every
  half-hour. These deaths constituted approximately
  39 percent of the 43,443 total traffic
  fatalities.
• Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of
  death for people from 3 to 33 years old. About
  39 are alcohol-related.  (NHTSA, 2005 )
