Purpose
  • To provide homelessness prevention assistance to
    households who would otherwise become homeless
  • To provide assistance to rapidly re-house persons
    who are homeless as defined by section 103 of the
    McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C.
    11302)

Target Populations
  • Individuals and Families who are currently
    RENTING a housing unit but are at risk of
    becoming homeless (prevention)
  • Individuals and Families who are experiencing
    homelessness (residing in emergency shelter,
    transitional shelters, or on the street) and need
    temporary assistance in order to obtain housing
    and retain it (rapid re-housing)

    entry, and data analysis
  • Staffing associated with the operation of the
    HMIS, including training
