Program
  • RECs and telephone companies apply for zero
    interest loans or grants to promote rural
    economic development and job creation projects.

    ultimate recipient. Grants used to establish
    revolving loan funds.
  • National competition for funds 750,000 (loan)
    and 300,000 (grant) maximums.

Water and Waste
  • Loans and grants can be used to construct,
    enlarge, extend, or otherwise improve a public
    water, waste or solid waste facility.
  • Public bodies, Non-Profit Associations, Indian

    all rural areas are eligible.
  • For grant consideration, median household income
    of the service area must be below 31,707.

Community Facilities
  • Funds are available to public entities such as
    municipalities, counties, special purpose
    districts, as well as non-profit corporation and
    tribal governments.
  • Funds may be used to construct, enlarge, or
    improve community facilities for health care,
    public safety, and public services.
  • Financial assistance may be direct loans,
    guaranteed loans, or grants.

Distance Learning Telemedicine Program
  • The Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT)
    Program is specifically designed to meet the
    educational and health care needs of rural
    America through the use of advanced
    telecommunications technologies.
  • The DLT Program provides three kinds of financial
    assistance, 100 Grant, Combination Loan-Grant,
    and 100 Loan
  • To be eligible for a grant, your organization
    must currently deliver or propose to deliver
    distance learning or telemedicine services for
    the term of the grant, be legally organized as an
    incorporated organization or partnership.
