  commoners cold not afford horse.
• Took to art of dodging, taunting and facing the
  bull unarmed

• Bullfighting is called the Fiesta Nacional or
  national sport
• That actual fight is called Corrida
• The bullfighter or Matadors job is to show his
  skill in dodging the bull in a way that excites
  and entertains the crowd.

• If he does a good job he will be presented with
  the ears, tail or hoofs of the bull as trophies
• It is estimated that 24,000 bulls are killed each
  year and over 30 million people watch these
  events each year.

The running of the Bulls

• Called the Encierro
• Takes place during the fiesta of san Fermin
• From July 7th to 14th
• Takes place at 8 A.M. every morning.
• The run is about a ½ mile and last about 3 to 5
  minutes

• It starts when the runners gather at the bottom
  of Santo Domingo.
• They gather to sing a hornily to the image of San
  Fermin
• You hear a rocket go off that mean bulls have
  been released and a second one mean all bulls are
  in the street.
