GENERAL INFORMATION Mount Zion Institute of
Christian Education offers a two-year Christian
education program leading to several diplomas or
individual course completion certificates offered
by the Evangelical Training Association. We
offer courses that are a part of the Evangelical
Training Association and other seminaries and
Bible Colleges.

MISSION
To educate each student within a nurturing
atmosphere so that they will receive both high
quality course work and structured discipleship
training to empower them to maximize their
spiritual growth and impact the world.
HISTORY
ICE was created especially to optimize the
Religious Education opportunities for the members
of Mount Zion Baptist Church and the local
community. The Evangelical Training Association
(ETA) of Schaumburg, Illinois designs the
standard curriculum employed by ICE. All
classroom instructors are ETA approved and
certified to teach courses.
- Each course lasts 12 weeks.
- Classes are ninety minutes per week at designated
time. Students have the option to enroll for
multiple courses during the same semester. - Students will receive a certificate upon the
successful completion of the specific curriculum
of study. - Forms of Payment Cash, Personal Check, or Money
Order. - Scholarships available for senior saints and
single parents (see the Registrar for an
application).

L. Campbell The word "apologetics" comes from the
Greek word "apologia," pronounced,
"ap-ol-og-ee-ah." Apologetics is the work of
convincing people to change their views. Students
will learn to defensively and offensively deal
with critics who oppose or question the
revelation of God in Christ and the Bible.
Christian Ethics Instructor(s) Deacon Jesse
L. Porter For Christians, ethics must be rooted
in the absolutes of God's Word. This course
examines critical questions such as abortion,
euthanasia, bioethics, human sexuality, politics,
war, capital punishment, race, the arts, and the
environment, from a biblical viewpoint. Personal
Spiritual Growth Instructor Minister Ellihue
Henderson This course will assist the student in
identifying and understanding how he/she grows
spiritually. Friday Evenings, Off-site 630

Kenner The Fitness Ministry provides workout
sessions involve aerobics, fitness practices, and
a variety of challenges. Attendance Required

Book of Daniel Instructor(s) Bro. William D.
Gibbs This is a survey course about the 12
chapters of Daniel, a book of Prophecy. Money
Smarts Instructor(s) Joyce Bell Financial
Education leads to financial freedom. This
course explores the importance of good money
management skills. Designed for young adults
before they go off to college or move out on
their own, but everyone needs to be money smart.
The Book of Proverbs Instructor(s) Reverend
Barbara A. Edwards The student is introduced to
Old Testament wisdom literature. Proverbs is a
source of practical, relevant wisdom.
Revelation Instructor(s) Dr. Bruce
Haliburton The signs and symbols of this
prophetic book are presented within a
dispensational framework. Spanish for
Beginners Instructor(s) Ms. Hazel Barnes This
course provides beginning Spanish for Adults.
Students will learn the fundamental techniques to
speak and write Spanish. Cults Instructor(s)
Minister Bernard Coleman This course will study
the classified and unclassified cults Christians
are often confronted with. This study includes
Jehovah Witnesses, Mormonism, Moonies, Hare
Krishna, the New Age Movement, etc.
