Why is the focus on early childhood and family
outcomes important?
  • Improve results for young children with
    disabilities and their families
  • Meeting a need in the field
  • Development of outcomes for general early
    childhood programs
  • Address GPRA and PART

Approach
  • Short-term obtain data from the States
    regarding child and family outcome GPRA
    indicators used to assess program performance at
    the Federal Level
  • Long-term support the development of State
    early childhood outcome data collection used for
    program improvement by States, local programs and
    service providers

  • Spring SPP/APR packages published for public
    comment, including child and family outcomes
  • Summer OSEP finalizes SPP/APR packages,
    including child and family outcomes

  • Percent of parents with a child receiving special

  • Percent of families participating in Part C who
    report that early intervention services have

  • Package will become final when regulations are

  • Part C Conforming changes
  • Currently Emergency clearance expires end of
    July
  • Will request another emergency clearance and will
    open for comment as part of clearance
  • Package will not become final until the Part C
    regulations are final
