• Beijing Plus Five, held in New York
• in June 2000, was the culmination of 4
• years work building on the Beijing Platform
• For Action (BPFA). Australian women
• participated in this meeting alongside
• their colleagues from the Asia Pacific region,
• to ensure that further gains were made for
• women through this review process. Regional
• NGO priorities were identified through a
• series of regional meetings, which commenced
• with the subregional meeting hosted by
• ANCORW and CAPOW! At Sydney University
• in July 1999.
