- Beijing Plus Five, held in New York
- in June 2000, was the culmination of 4
- years work building on the Beijing Platform
- For Action (BPFA). Australian women
- participated in this meeting alongside
- their colleagues from the Asia Pacific region,
- to ensure that further gains were made for
- women through this review process. Regional
- NGO priorities were identified through a
- series of regional meetings, which commenced
- with the subregional meeting hosted by
- ANCORW and CAPOW! At Sydney University
- in July 1999.
