Here are some things about this holiday
  • On the last day in the holiday they gather at a
specific house were they reenacted the search of
    lodging from Mary an Joseph.
  • In poorer areas friends and neighbors get
together and celebrate with each other.
  • Las Posada was originated in the 1500s.
  • Las Posada is Spanish for the Inn.
  • This celebration starts on December 16 and ends
    on December 24.

Did you hear about
  • This holiday is one of the most colorful
    traditions.
  • The happy end to each posada has always been the
    piñata.
  • A piñata is a fragile earth wear jar covered in
    paper Mache.
  • Las Posada commemorates the journey that Joseph
    and Mary made
  • Las Posada is celebrated in many cities and
    towns across Mexico.

I learned that.
  • At the festival a small child dresses up as an
    angle and leads a procession.
  • The procession is made up of children wearing
gold and silver robes with lit candles.
  • The adults and musicians follow the procession
    through out the town.
  • After the kids do this they get rewarded with
    candy and sometimes money.
  • Although the holiday Las Posada was originally
started in Mexico it has become popular in United
    States.

Las Posada
  • This tradition has went around the world to
celebrate the journey Joseph and Mary trying to
find shelter. I think it has affected some people
in the united states by showing the story of when
Jesus was born but in America they sometimes
celebrate it in different ways like instead we
    call it Christmas.
