AMIS/NTFS INTRODUCTION
  • NTFS is the New Tactical Forecast System.
  • Incorporates old AWDS hardware
  • Able to use laptop/desk top computer to access
    database
  • AMIS is the Automated Meteorological Information
    System Software that runs on the NTFS
  • Allows users the capability to operate the same
    system in-garrison and in a tactical environment
  • System will continue to function as it always has

    products, normally transmitted to the AWN,
    through another AMIS location
  • Capability to update AMIS tables remotely using
    the Remote System Manager (RSM) function
  • Multiple-ICAO Support
  • Able to connect to multiple locations
    simultaneously from same terminal
