REU Summer ProgramAtFisk University 

• The REU summer program at Fisk University will
  offer 10 undergraduate students the opportunity
  to conduct various types of material science
  researchthe program is designed especially for
  students majoring in such fields as physics,
  chemistry, mathematics. During the nine-week
  program (June 1July 31) each student will work
  with a Fisk research faculty member on
  interdisciplinary materials science research.
  Students will also participate in an organized
  program of lectures, mini-courses, laboratory
  visits and a variety of recreational activities.
  The students will be groomed to understand
  various concepts about their research, and will
  present their research via oral presentation,
  poster sessions and written papers acquired
  throughout the program.

• Surface Science
• Requirements
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
• G.P.A. of 3.0 and higher
• Completed application submitted by March 3, 2009
• Undergraduate status at the time of REU program
• Two letters of recommendation by faculty
