What Do We Do?
  • MISSION STATEMENT
  • E.C.A.C. is a volunteer non profit organization
    dedicated to protecting and promoting agriculture
    and agricultural rights in Elmore County in a
    proactive and positive manner.
  • E.C.A.C. provides testimony on land use issues.
  • E.C.A.C. facilitates meetings between various
    Governmental agencies and concerned citizens on
    land use issues that arise within the community
    that involve agriculture.
  • E.C.A.C. provides opportunities for interaction
    between the general public and the various facets
    of Agriculture within Elmore County at various
    public functions.
  • E.C.A.C. promotes agriculture in our school
    system.

Critical to Idaho Agriculture

Irrigation Water Rights
  • Are Strictly monitored by IDWR
  • Agricultural Water Rights must be protected from
    encroachment by urbanization and other threats in
    Southern Idaho. Domestic use must be monitored
    at some point in the future.
  • Multiple Water Rights Issues are currently
    ongoing throughout Idaho, i.e. Swan Falls
    Agreement, Magic Valley water Calls, critical
    groundwater management area in Elmore County.
  • Water and water rights are the lifeblood of
    Southern Idaho's agricultural base and must be
    protected to insure the sustainability of Idaho's
    number one industry.

  • Agriculture, with a farm gate value of production
    of approximately 4.0 billion is the number one
    industry in the Gem State .
  • Idaho agriculture is not only diverse, but it is
    also a leader in several commodities nationally.
  • Idaho is the number one potato state with more
    than 29 percent of the U.S. crop produced within
    our borders.
  • Idaho also leads the Nation in specialty products
    such as food sized trout, Austrian winter peas,
    and several varieties of dry beans.
  • Idaho is ranked second in the production of
    Sugarbeets and all dry peas.
  • Idaho is among the top ten for 18 crops including
    trout, milk production, American cheese, honey,
    and sheep and lambs.
  • Idahos important cattle feeding industry is
    ranked 11th in the country.
