  • Identified by Dr. Howard Gardner
  • There are several (at least 8) separate mental
    abilities
  • An individual could have strengths or weaknesses
    in one or several areas
  • Teaching should appeal to different forms of
    intelligences
  • Learning using a preferred intelligence should be
    encouraged
  • Assessments should measure all forms of
    intelligence, not just linguistic and
    logical-mathematical

    sounds including listening and making sounds such
    as songs, rhythms, patterns, and other types of
    auditory expression.  They are able to use
    inductive and deductive reasoning and identify
    relationships in data.

  • These "nature" people learn best through the
    interactions with the environment including
    outdoor activities, field trips, and involvement
    with plants and animals.

  • Find examples of things in Nature related to your
    topic
  • Joining an environmental/wildlife protection
    group

    meta-cognitive practices such as getting in touch
    with their feelings and self motivation.  They
    are able to concentrate and be mindful.
