What Can I Do to Help My Child?

• The Binder

1) Nothing fancy, a standard two inch, three
ring, hard cover binder.
2) Dividers, one for each subject, .

3) A zippered plastic pouch w/metal holes
containing

• 4 2 wooden pencils,

• 2 black ink pens,

• 2 blue ink pens,

• an eraser.

Note Mechanical pencils are not advised.

The Homework Calendar
Blaker-Kinser Jr. High School provides a
Homework Calendar for each child at the
beginning of each month. Inside the calendars are
important events such as testing dates, sporting
events, dances, holidays, etc. The Homework
Calendar was specifically designed to inform
parents what it is that their child was given for
homework in each of his/her subject areas.
How It Works
1) Students are to have their homework calendars
open at the beginning of class
2) Teachers will display the homework assigned
for that evening on one of the following
a) the white board
b) the overhead
d) a flip chart
c) LCD projector
3) Students are then required to enter the
homework assigned for that evening on the correct
date and space for that curricular area.
