• This years winner was also a nominee last year
• Predominantly for their work with Edinburgh
  Woollen Mill and The Music Group
• Nominated again this year for their work with the
  Uskmouth Power Station in South Wales (Carron
  Energy)

• The acquisition of Carron Energy required funding
  of around 40m. It is a well placed and timely
  acquisition as
• Uskmouth power station is one of six power
  stations in the UK fitted with desulphurisation
  equipment for environmental purposes.
• It sits on 24 acres of land with a 1,250 Mega
  Watt connection to the National Grid.
• It currently has an output of 360 Mega Watts and
  is set to take advantage of the industry trend of
  increasing demand at increased prices.

• This years winner has extended facilities of
  33.45m during 2004
• Funds have been applied through a combination of
• Invoice discounting
• Property finance
• Stock finance
• Plant machinery finance
• As well as cash flow term loans

• Examples of application this year include
• Assisting in the buyout of four packaging
  businesses with a combined turnover of 48m.
• The turnaround involved workforce and cost
  reduction as well as introduction of property,
  stock and plant finance together with invoice
  discounting.
• Also, Assisting a confectionary company with debt
  funding totalling 8.75m to help the turnaround
  aim of expanding the product range and creating
  new markets.

• This years winner has consistently demonstrated
  its capacity to promote a pan European business
  strategy
• Funds currently extended in Italy, Belgium,
  Germany, Spain, Holland, France Sweden
• Proof that asset based structures can be adapted
  to provide growth across the European continent

  Polaroid and Bell Microproducts.

  expansion which spanned a five European
  jurisdictions.
