• Aerodynamic outputs such as lift or drag are
  often the most critical quantities needed from a
  computational simulation.
• Many adaptive methods are based on large flow
  gradients or other heuristics they do not
  necessarily guarantee accurate outputs.
• Objective
• Establish rigorous link between adaptive criteria
  and output error using the adjoint.
• Optimize grid to maximize output accuracy and
  computational efficiency.
