The Ohio Achievement Assessment
  • Highlighting the changes in the security and
    testing procedures beginning with the fall, 2009
    OAA 3rd grade Reading test.
  • Presented by Tim Dugan

Testing Schedule
  • Testing Schedule
  • The 3rd grade test will be given on Tuesday,
    October 6, 2009
  • All test boxes should be returned to CO/care of
    Tim Dugan no later than October 9

The Booklet
  • There is only one booklet format (to be used with
    all special versions (Read Aloud, English Audio
    CD, Braille and Large Print)
  • Demographic information now in two places (back
    cover and inside back cover)
  • Back cover has pre-ID label if available
  • Inside back cover has SSID, Local Student ID,
    LEP/IEP status, accomodations, etc.

Testing Group Number
  • New Mylar bands replace brown paper bands
  • Bands now need to be labeled
  • Box G is Testing Group Number (see appendix A for
    sample listing) THIS IS NEW FOR OAA YOU MUST
    ASSIGN A GROUP TESTING NUMBER THAT CORRESPONDS
    WITH A TESTING LOCATION!!!

The District Testing Coordinator
  • Ensure Tests arrive ontime to schools
  • Ensure district testing/security procedures are
    followed
  • Ensure School Testing Coordinators have all the
    information they need
  • Document any discrepancies in the
    security/testing procedures
  • Produce pre-ID Labels/order tests
  • Ensure tests are returned via FedEx/UPS

School Testing Coordinator
  • Ensure the building follows district/state
    security/testing procedures
  • Standard time (2.5 hours) unless identified as
    LEP/IEP
  • Ensure contents of boxes delivered to and from
    the schools to CO
  • Contact DTC with problems/overages
  • Read STC handbook to become familiar with
    procedures before the test date!
  • Handout pre-ID labels to teachers and contact DTC
    if no label available (form filled out with info)

Role of the Principal
  • Ensure contact with Student Services to ensure
    accomodations for all necessary students
    (LEP/IEP/etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with state law and district
    policy
  • Ensure tests are returned to CO in a timely
    fashion
  • Read STC handbook to become familiar with
    procedures before the test date!
