Introduction

• - This week we are learning about the Utah
  Mormon Pioneers. Without the Utah Mormon
  Pioneers, Utah would not be what it is today. As
  Utah citizens we should have a knowledge of who
  these pioneers are, why they came to Utah, how
  they got to Utah, and how they settled Utah.
  Today we are going to focus on how the pioneers
  got to Utah. We will learn about the route that
  they took as well as the important locations
  along their journey! Lets get started!

The Task

• Students will be able to chart the route that the
  Utah Mormon Pioneers took to get to Salt Lake
  City as well as identify some of the important
  trail locations along the way. For the final
  project, students will fill in their United
  States map based on the information they have
  gathered.

The Process

• Students, in order for you to to complete this
  WebQuest you will need to visit the websites
  below to gather information on the journey of the
  Utah Mormon Pioneers. After you have gathered you
  information you will need to fill in the United
  States map given these requirements
• -Your map shows the route the pioneers took
  starting from Nauvoo, Illinois and continuing
  all the way to Salt Lake City.
• -Your map marks five of the important locations
  along the pioneer trail.
• -Your map marks three other locations along the
  pioneer trail that you find interesting.
• -Your map should be neat, clear, and creative!

Conclusion

• I hope you had fun on this WebQuest! I hope by
  doing this WebQuest that you now have a knowledge
  of the route the pioneers took to get to Utah as
  well as an appreciation for the journey they took
  to establish Utah!
