6Student Activities
- Activity 1
- For activity one students are to go to the Warren
County Historical Society website, scroll down to
the Ohio A Great History icon where you will be
linked to Historical sites in prominent Ohios
counties. The assignment requires that each
student scroll down to the Warren County
selection and select one of the twenty-eight
links under the Warren County heading. Upon
selecting a link you are required to prepare a
brief summary of information contained on the
site and share your findings with the class.
Anyone who visits one of the sites listed on this
site will receive extra credit. All that is
required is brief summary of your experience.
- Activity 2
- For activity two you will be required to take the
lead role in an assignment that is designed to
give you the student an opportunity to create
your own learning experience. In this lesson you
be need to go the Ohio History web page to access
the search option. In the option space you are
being asked to provide the name of any historical
event or place in Ohio. Once you have decided
upon an event or place you are required to
research the topic in an effort to compile
information. Once the information has been
compiled you will then need to transfer your
information onto poster board. The visual aids
you create will assist you as you explain your
chosen topic to the class. This assignment is to
be done in groups of three. Find two partners and
get to work.

- Activity 3
- For activity three you will be asked to make
recommendations on how to improve the quality of
this web site. You will be required to explain
your rationale by providing a list of websites
that you feel are educational and user friendly.
The websites must be educationally based and
widely recognized. You will present your list to
your classmates. At the conclusion of the
assignment you will be provided with the entire
list of sites compiled by you and your
classmates.
- Activity 4
- For activity four you will be required to reach
into this bag and pull out number. Once you have
completed your drawing you are to access the City
of Lebanon website at the address listed above.
Once there, you must match your selected number
to the number on the list. After you have mated
the two, locate the topic that you have selected
for discussion. Prepare a brief summary of your
topic and be prepared to share your results with
the class. Remember, this assignment is practice
for your upcoming research project.

- Activity 5
- For assignment five you will be required to pare
up with one of your classmates and watch the
videotape that details the history of the Golden
lamb. You are to pick out one of the historical
figures or places that is discussed in the video
and prepare a brief explanation of your findings.
In an effort to assist you in your efforts to
accumulate your information, class will be held
in the library on Wednesday and Thursday. Reports
will be presented to the class on Friday.

- It is important for a middle school social

will allow students to understand the historical
significance of this prominent Ohio community.

- Founded in 1802 by Ichabod Corwin
- Consisted of 100 lots of land
- Streets formed to accommodated a 6- horse
stagecoach - Became capital city of Warren county in 1806

Columbus - Originally served as a rest stop for travelers
between the 3 cities - Early travelers used State Rt. 48 to go to
Cincinnati/Dayton - Used State Rt. 42 to go to Columbus
- Both State Rt. 48 42 go through Lebanon
