Security

• The Cart
• Stores - make sure you know about the key
• Charges -
• Make sure the cart is plugged in
• Make sure the laptops are plugged in
• Moves - do this minimally and not by students

More Security

• The laptops in the cart
• Should be identified with simple numeration
• Should have labeled slots in the cart
• In a large class
• Use a card system - student taking a laptop
  signs a card that is left in the slot - cross off
  on return
• Be in charge of when and where students are out
  of seats
• 1 student - 1 laptop (permanent match)

Prevent Walking Laptops

• There may be times when you want them to walk -
  use a where, when, how long paper system OR
• Library check-out (bar code) OR
• Security tracking system (similar to Macys) OR
• Human - no one leave the class until you check
  the cart (allow 5 minutes for this)
• Use the network and external key drives to move
  files
