• Designed by Rudolf Diesel
• Developed in 1890s to improve engine efficiency
• Gasoline engines were inefficient
• Wide variety of uses and power

Diesel VS Traditional

• Fuel Diesel
• Temperature and pressure cause fuel to ignite
• Fuel and air are drawn in separately
• Provides more low end torque
• Better fuel economy

• Fuel Gasoline
• Spark causes ignition
• Mixture of fuel and air is drawn in together
• Higher acceleration rates, generally higher
  horsepower
