9
Course Content Overview (Contd.)
  • COURSE OBJECTIVES This is the second of a
two-semester course. Principles of Accounting II
completes the study of financial accounting begun
in Principles of Accounting I by focusing on
    stockholders equity, income, retained earnings,
the statement of cash flows, and financial
statement analysis. This semester also begins the
study of managerial accounting with focus on
    manufacturing methods, managerial analysis and
costing systems. The course has been designed to
meet the requirements of four-year colleges and
universities so as to be fully transferable. (Of
course, transferability may also depend on the
grade received in the course and the requirements
of the institution being transferred to.)

10
Grading/Evaluation
  • Tests 5 _at_ 12 points
    each 60
  • Quizzes 10 _at_ 4 points each 40
  • End-Of-Chapter
  • Material
  • (Extra Credit) 10 _at_ 1 point each 10
  • Total Possible Points.110

11
Testing
  • All five tests will be available ONLY online on
the students Blackboard Website. They must be
taken in one of the college Testing Centers.
(Though the tests appear on your Blackboard Web
site, they are password protected and only
available to you when the Testing Center proctor
enters the password.) It is recommended that you
not wait until the last day to take a test. Tests
may be taken as many times as you wish until the
deadline has passed. The final grade awarded will
be the last test taken. (Test questions are
selected at random from the test bank. Therefore,
each time a test is taken, the questions will be
different.) Once the deadline for a test has
passed, that test will no longer be available.
Watch your deadlines carefully! They are listed
on your Website and in your course outline.

12
Testing (contd.)
  • Students must get permission from me to have a
test proctored at a site other than a college
Testing Center. (Permission is granted only under
unusual circumstances.) Email the FLO office to
get the proctor agreement form. Fax or email back
the proctor information to the FLO office.
  • Note Must be done at least two weeks prior
    to the test deadline date

13
Getting Started with Assignments
  • To get started after registering for the
course (and buying your textbook if you dont
already have one), read Chapter 11 and do the
homework listed on your Website for Chapter 11.

14
Evaluation
  • Please complete your course evaluation when
posted on your Blackboard Website near the end of
    the semester.
