Accounting IMrs. Boutin
  • Open to 11th and 12th grade students (10th
    graders with teacher permission) with good
    general mathematical skills.
  • Includes planning, keeping, analyzing, and
    interpreting of financial records for a sole
    proprietorship and a partnership.
  • Everyone in business must be able to use this
    language almost all individuals can use a
    knowledge of accounting in personal financial
    activities.
  • This is a great course for all students.

  • Open to all students.
  • Suggested prerequisites are that students should
    have maintained average or above average grades
    in English and Math and demonstrated good
    coordinated muscular hand and arm movements.
  • Software used in three Business Education
    computer labs include Windows XP and Microsoft
    Office 2003.

    approval and C average in IBCA with Microsoft
    Word) and 11th and 12th grade students.

  • PowerPoint presentation
  • Access database software

ASOMrs. Boutin
  • Open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who
    have earned at least a C average in Intro to
    BCA, have a good background in English grammar,
    Reading, and Mathematical skills.
  • Course is designed to introduce students to the
    duties and responsibilities of office employment
    and to acquaint them with the special skills and
    abilities necessary for becoming a computer
    office employee/employer.
  • Skills taught include
  • Proficiency in formatting business documents
  • Oral and written communication
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Completing resumes and letters of application
  • Interviewing techniques
  • The software used is Microsoft Office 2003.

GCEMrs. Boutin
  • Seniors only in good standing who attend school
    half a day and work in the afternoons.
  • The curriculum covers communication skills,
    economics, budgeting, banking, taxes, workplace
    safety, and workplace readiness.
  • Students work a minimum of 15 hours per week and
    are paid minimum wage and also work under the
    supervision of the employer and the GCE
    coordinator.
  • Those students who complete the GCE course earn
    three Carnegie units.
  • The course is a structured educational strategy
    which integrates classroom job skills with
    learning through productive work experiences.
    General Cooperative Education is a partnership
    among students, educational instructors, and
    employers.
