Network Requirements
  • To Guarantee Services in Transit
  • For High Speed Data Traffic
  • For Mass Subscribers
  • For Lower Rate Accounting
  • HIGH THROUGHPUT

Increased System Throughput
HIGH THROUGHPUT
  • Termination of W-TCP can increase system
    throughput.
  • W-TCP is protocol for mobile Internet.
  • It is optimized in accordance with W-CDMA
    transmission technology.
  • Translation from W-TCP to TCP by GW function
    enables increased mobile system throughput.

Service Requirements
  • Smooth Migration From 2G to 3G
  • Highlighting Benefits of 3G Networks

Network Architecture for Both 2G and 3G Services
For migration from 2G to 3G
  • Overlay 3G network on 2G (PDC) network
  • User profile is shared by both networks

Dual Network Service
For migration from 2G to 3G
  • Supplement 3G areas during introduction period
    with existing 2G(PDC)
  • Users must activate a network from which they
    wish to receive Network services.
  • HLR manages activation state and terminates
incoming calls to an activated network.

Reverse Charging
Provision of 2G key services
  • Reverse charging service enables users to access
specified access points at no charge.
  • According to registration of free HTTP addresses
beforehand by contents providers, billing filter
checks the HTTP address of packet data.

Summary
  • We made prompt 3G service launch possible because
    solved above-mentioned requirements.
  • Provision of services for transitional period
from 2G to 3G and 2G key services in 3G network
has made smooth migration from 2G to 3G possible.
  • We are studying evolution scenario with adoption
of IP technologies to 3G packet network for
    economization.
