2What is Sun Devil Tracking?
- It is our commitment to our students to provide a
clear path to graduation in four years. - We will provide you an optimal course plan, track
your progress in critical courses, and ensure you
have the critical courses you need when you need
to take them.

work?
- Degree Search (www.asu.edu/programsearch)
- Find a degree that meets your interest and goals
and preferred location. - Degree Search helps you find a major by name,
campus, college, area of interest or keyword.
5What tools do I have to make Sun Devil Tracking
work?
- Major Map View which courses you must take- in
what order- to graduate on schedule. - The map will outline
- Which COURSES YOU NEED to complete (degree
requirements) - What ORDER YOU NEED to take them (course
sequences), and - WHAT grades AND/OR GPA are required to graduate.
- Each major maps has a series of courses and
milestones that are bold and highlighted in gray.
These items are called critical requirements. The
courses introduce you to major-related course
work during your freshman and sophomore years.
6What tools do I have to make Sun Devil Tracking
work?
- Major Map You are required to take these
courses and complete the milestones in the
specified order. Some courses or majors may
require a minimum grade or GPA for you to stay on
track toward graduation. If you do not complete
the requirement, you will be notified that you
are off track and need to contact an advisor
before proceeding further. ASU recommends that
full-time students earn an average of 15 hours
per semester to graduate in four years.

- My Major Map You can run this report to evaluate
if your class work has met or is meeting the
critical requirements of your major (coming fall
2008). - Degree Audit You can view a complete list of
your degree requirements and how your completed
and in progress course work is meeting your
graduation requirements.

- E-mails from eAdvisor
- eAdvisor will send you email reminders to look at
My ASU concerning your on or off track status.
These e-mails are sent to your asu.edu e-mail
address, so it is important you keep your ASU
e-mail up-to-date and read it daily.

- My ASU
- ALL THE important information you need to know is
located on your My ASU page. - Access your Blackboard courses
- View your course registrations
- Contact your advisor
- Confirm your on- and off-track status

11How will I know I am on or off track?
- Students are off track if they
- drop or dont register for a course defined as a
critical requirement in their Major Map, dont
meet the minimum course grade as defined by the
Major Map, - dont meet the overall university, college or
major GPA requirement as defined in their Major
Map, - dont meet a milestone in their Major Map, or
- are placed on academic probation.
12How will I know I am on or off track?
You are currently OFF TRACK
- You will be notified you are off track by
- An e- mail from eAdvisor will tell you to check
your status on My ASU. - My ASU will display and off-track message.
- An advising hold will be placed on your record.
- You will be able to drop or withdraw from a
course but you will not be able to add a course
and not be able to register for future fall or
spring semesters until the hold is cleared by
your advisor.

13What if my major doesnt fit?
- ASU offers over 250 majors designed to engage
each students unique talents and interests. -
- Students considering a change in major, can use
Degree Search and Major Maps to see how completed
course work can be applied to the new major, and
what the new course work will entail in a
particular field of study. - Once a major is selected, an academic advisor can
help guide students through the steps of
transitioning into the new program.
