vision by developing a strategy, consisting of
five interdependent parts.

Purpose Our reason for being
Our Purpose Statement will be used as the basis
for all future Vision Steering Group discussions.
It describes our reason for being.
- We are a Christ-centred people, committed to
sharing Gods love, providing refuge, and
reaching out to others
3Christ Church Vision
Vision A sensible appealing picture of the
future
The Christ Church vision describes what we aspire
to be in the next 3 years.
Where those without hope in their lives can find
the compassion and acceptance of Christ among us.
For us to have a good reputation in the town of
Tunbridge Wells and beyond
- Our vision is to be known as a place of hope,
restoration and connection within our community.
Bringing truth, healing, wholeness, forgiveness,
faith, confidence and new life by the Holy
Spirit.
By standing within the community rather than
outside it providing a bridge which is
accessible to all leading to spiritual freedom
and meaning through Jesus.
All have a sense of connectedness and belonging
to each other.

Strategic Imperatives What our goals are
We will achieve this vision within 3 years
through three key areas of work.
- Live out Jesus Great Commission (Matt.28.18-20)
- Be known as a port of call for hope within the
town by the end of 2011 - Develop a 1st Response initiative by the end of
2009 to aid people in difficulty - Establish relationships with other churches and
specialist agencies for the referral of those in
need. - Establish the building as a place of connection
by the end of 2011 - Develop current Shop 2 and narthex area into a
welcoming environment offering tea/coffee,
someone - to talk to, and pray with by 2010
- Attract 1000 people per month into our church
building - Deliver 3 connection initiatives in 2009.
- Develop a programme for men inside and outside
the church family -- by mid 2010 - Be known as a place where people are restored and
transformed by the end of 2011 - Refine our worship services on an ongoing basis
- Design a Welcome/Induction Strategy within 9
months - To become a church family numbering 250 adults
and 75 children by 2011 - Establish a Pastoral Team for min. of listening,
prayer, healing and wholeness by end 2009 - To offer ministry both internally and beyond the
church family as appropriate - Enable all to play their part in the Body of
Christ
