5ISSCC Short Course Replays from DVD at
SSCS-SeoulSeptember, 2006Story from Jan van der
Spiegel Region 10 Chapters Meeting
Chapter Vice President Andy Chung initiated
and organized a replay from DVD of the ISSCC 2005
Short course on Analog-Digital Converters by MIT
Professor Hae-Seung Lee at Korea University. With
the addition of participating chapter professors
and stop-play for QA and summary comments, the
DVD replay became an audience-friendly and
interactive learning experience.
A strong example of SSCS response to members
needs.
6SSCS Chapter Café
- World Café Format for hosting a collective
conversation between local IEEE Chapters and the
Boston Section - Originally developed by Juanita Brown and David
Isaacs for conversational dialog in group formats - Described in their book
- The World Café Shaping Our Futures Through
Conversations That Matter (2005)
7Café Ideas
- The knowledge and wisdom we need are already
present and accessible - Intelligence emerges as the system connects to
itself in creative ways - Collective insight evolves from
- Honouring unique contributions
- Connecting ideas
- Listening into the middle
- Noticing deeper patterns and questions
8Questions for dialog on Chapter Activities
- What program plans do you have for the coming
year? - What kinds of challenges are you facing in your
chapter? - What opportunities are there, and how can your
colleagues within SSCS help you succeed? - What would it take to create change on this
issue? - What could happen that would enable us to feel
energized in this situation? - What challenges might come our way, and how might
we meet them? - What conversation, if begun today, could ripple
out in a way that created new possibilities for
the future?
