ILS Certification Form

• Governing Policy One Book, Chapter 6
• Ensures fully supported ILS products for
  alterations.
• An expedient means for a Ship Program Manager
  (SPM) to fulfill their responsibilities to
  oversee the logistics aspects of alterations.
• Created for Ship Change Documents or Alterations
  that exist in Navy Data Environment (NDE).
• Should be certified by Start of Availability 4
  (SOA-4).
• Any changes to a certified ILS Cert will be a
  revision and requires a new ILS Cert.
• Any change to an alteration, results in a Rev to
  the Alt, and requires a new ILS Cert or a Rev to
  the existing ILS Cert.

Certification TypesFinal

• All Certification Types
• Must include at least one hull and may contain
  multiple hulls.
• Carriers only allow one hull per cert for an
  alteration. An alteration applied to more that
  one carrier, will have 1 cert per carrier for the
  alteration.
• Final ILS Certification
• An ILS certification that has all ILS products
  available in final form.
• Cert cannot have any edits after certification

Certification TypesInterim

• An ILS certification that has all ILS products
  available, except one or more products are not in
  final form.
• Requires the PARM to submit a monthly update
  message listing the status of final products.
• Upon final completion of all products, a Final
  Certification must be submitted.

Certification TypesRisk Assessment

• Allows TYCOM to authorize an alteration
  installation without ILS products.
• Requires the TYCOM to submit a monthly update
  message listing the status of final products.
• Upon final completion of all products, a Final
  Certification must be submitted.

Certification TypesPreliminary

• May be created for Alterations not in NDE.
• Used to create the ILS Cert concurrently with the
  alteration.
• Once the alt is entered into NDE, use Copy an
  Existing Certification hyperlink to copy the
  Preliminary ILS Cert into a new ILS Cert.
• Submarine Preliminary Certs MAY go through the
  approval process.
• All other ILS Preliminary Certs may NOT go
  through the approval process.
