What went well in 2002 ?

• Reduction in number of Roll-overs
• Reduction in LTIs from RTAs
• Involvement of CEOs (Joint Management
  Inspections)
• Introduction of 2-level Incident Review Scheme
• Enhancement of HSE Awareness through ESSW
• Working Safely Workshop for workforce
• Enhancement of Competence of HSE Advisors through
  Propulsion Project.

What did not go well ?

• 2 Fatalities, plus another 2 non-work related
• Increase in LTIs, 50 being Finger Injuries
• Increase in Total Recordable Cases
• Inadequate implementation of STOP
• Disruption of HSE training by the third party
  training Institutes
• Discontinuation of Qarn Alam HSE Pressure Group
  Meetings.

How can we reinforce our Strength ?

• Install Safety Posters along Interior Roads
• Install Speed-Detection Radar System
• Coastal Road Safety Awareness (Signals Junction)
• Speed breakers at TEE-junctions
• Finger Saving Campaign
• CEOs to Visit and spend evening (Barbecue) with
  the workforce which include a night stay in
  interior (incentive scheme PDO/OPAL/MOG).
• Safety Message cassettes

Areas of Weakness requiring Improvement?

• CEOs to participate in Finger Saving campaign
  in the interior
• Continue Joint Management Facility Inspection
• Enforce Enhanced Site Supervision workshop for
  all levels
• Effective Implementation of STOP Programme.
• CEOs to attend No-LTI Club functions in interior
  (along with overnight stay)

Conclusions

• Concerted and sustained efforts by CEOs required
  to improve HSE performance,
• Implement agreed action items from CEO HSE
  Conference.
• Safety never rests because danger never
  sleeps(Slogan)
