Wagner is located in the Puck Building, right
between Soho and Greenwich Village

Area Monuments
  • The Puck
  • 120-year old landmark - was once the printing
    facility of Puck Magazine, which ceased
    publication in 1918.
  • Built from 1885 to 1893 in a Romanesque Revival
    style designed by architect Albert Wagner.
  • Additional construction in 1899 to replace part
    of structure that was torn down to make room for
    the extension of Lafayette Street.
  • Listed on the National Register of Historic
    Places and is a New York City landmark
  • The exterior is used in the TV show Will Grace
    as the building where Grace works
  • Wagner has called the Puck home since May, 2004

  • The Arch
  • A permanent marble Arch was erected in 1892
  • replacing a plaster and wood arch created to
  • celebrate the centennial of Washington's
  • Inauguration
  • Modeled after the Arc de Triomphe in Paris
  • Inscription reads
  • Let us raise a standard to which the wise and
    the honest can repair.
  • The event is in the hand of God. - Washington
  • 16m redesign of the park, which would relocate
    the central fountain by about 22 feet to align it
    with Arch, is under review
