- The OSR
- Provides travel support to visit funding agencies
and program directors - Assists in tailoring proposals to RFPs
- Helps with strategy in developing proposals
- Guides in building budgets to federal regulations
- Critiques proposals
- Scans and converts documents to PDF
- Provides color printing of graphs and tables,
etc. - Finalizes all electronic and paper submissions

11Proposal-to-Project Phase
- Award Letter or Purchase Order signals that a
proposal is funded and a project can begin - The OSR then
- Opens an account with the Business Office
- Begins a file to hold all documentation for the
life of the project - Sets up the budget
- Notifies PI that work can begin
- Sets up PDA account for PI
12Project Initiation Phase
- OSR assists P.I. in acquiring resources needed
for the project - Personnel
- Assign graduate assistants
