Purpose of the survey
  • To check the estimates of the value of GVA part
    that refers to individual construction of
    buildings

Objective of the survey
  • To obtain data on the total cost of buildings,
    structure of investments, structure of costs,
    financial sources and similar

  • Buildings in a chosen sample of enumeration areas
  • Respondent
  • Owner of the building or a person most familiar
    with construction works on the building

  • The survey included construction works started in
    period 1996 - 2005, irrespective of the
    completion date

Conclusions
  • After the expansion in the period 2000-2002, a
    number of buildings under construction is rapidly
    decreasing
  • Building works last around 8 years
  • Average useful floor area of one storey is around
    62 m2, and most frequently buildings have ground
    floors and one storey

  • The total planned cost of building 1 m2 is around
    786 KM, of which the share of costs of material
    is around 50, labour costs 30 and land, land
    preparation and permits, projects and similar is
    20
  • During construction, the largest investments take
    place in the first year, and make around 30 of
    the total planned cost of building works. The
    share of investments in each next year is 10 in
    average.
