• Article 9A Housing Acquisition
• The Intent of the article is to reserve 500,000
  for Plymouth Bay Housing Corporation
• BPHC, is a nonprofit organization set up by the
  Plymouth Housing Authority with Community
  Preservation funds in 2004
• The set aside will provide BPHC the flexibility
  to create affordable housing deed restricted
  units and applications for matching funds from
  state, federal, and private organizations

• Article 9B Recreational Acquisition
• Set aside 75,000 for the reconstruction of the
  Town Brook fishway.
• Town of Plymouth is in the process of
  implementing a phase restoration to Brewster
  Gardens, Town Brook, and Jenny Grist Mill
• This article would assist the Town on the Town
  Brook fish ladder phase.
• The CPA funds will also be used as matching
  funds to complete the project.

• Article 9C Historic Acquisition
• Set aside 250,000 to assist in the construct
  universal access to the Pilgrim Hall Museum
• The 250,000 will also be used as matching money
  for a National Endowment for the Humanities
  challenge grant to assist Pilgrim Hall in its 3M
  capital campaign

Article 9D Historical

• Set aside 12, 250 for the restoration of the
  Paul Revere Town bell
• Located in the belfry of the Unitarian church at
  Town Square
• The bell was commissioned in 1801 from Paul
  Revere and recast in 1896 after fire damaged the
  bell in 1894
• The Town of Plymouth would receive an easement
  into the belfry and historical preservation
  restriction on the bell
• The repair will include an electronic ringing
  device and repair and access to the bell

Plymouth County FarmConservation Restriction

• Places a conservation restriction on
  approximately 60 acres of the farms remaining
  acreage
• Proposed 300,000 purchase price for CR well
  below market value
• Proceeds will be used to fund the farms
  agricultural operations
• A new nonprofit organization will be formed to
  raise public and private funds to underwrite the
  farms future operations
• Farm is one of Plymouths, and Plymouth
  Countys, unique assets that define our
  agricultural heritage

Center Hill Beach Preservation Project

• Property currently owned by Joslin Diabetes
  Center
• Proposed acquisition of 78 acres along Center
  Hill Road in two phases
• Phase 1 Fall 2005 Town Meeting 49 acres of
  upland woodlands for 1.675M
• Phase 2 Spring 2006 Town Meeting 29 acres of
  oceanfront for 4M
• Phase 2 is contingent upon Joslin receiving
  legal permission from the Mass. AGs office to
  sell the land
• CPC pursuing grant opportunities and
  partnerships with state and federal partners to
  help defray the project cost
• Project offers one of the last remaining
  opportunities to acquire 78 acres along Cape Cod
  Bay for public access, and to secure another link
  in the state forest trail corridor

Phoenix Cranberry Acquisition

• Acquisition is part of the Eel River headwaters
  restoration projecttotal cost of 700,000
• Towns commitment is to purchase 57 acres of
  upland and bog off Long Pond Road, for 300,000
• Additional 350,000 project cost to be provided
  by USDA, Hornblower Foundation, and private
  donors
• Restoration project is one of the most
  comprehensive in Southern New England, and will
  help protect the largest source of freshwater
  input into Plymouth Harbor
• Property connects existing conservation parcels,
  thereby enabling trail linkages to Myles Standish
  State Forest
