  basic information to allow everyone to use Class
  Web to look up subject headings and class numbers
• Plenty of advanced topics not covered
• Online tutorial

What It Is, Why You Should Care

• Class Web is a web-based product replacing Class
  Plus
• Class Plus is going away as of April, 2003
• Includes Subject Headings, Subdivisions, and
  Class Schedules
• Does not include rules well use Catalogers
  Desktop for a while

• Browser access
• Cookies JavaScript required
• Frames optional but beneficial
• Netscape Internet Explorer supported

Search Tips

• No Stoplist of common words
• Most punctuation converted to space
• Colon, hyphen, decimal important
• Wildcard for one or more characters (art for
  arts, artist, artistic)
• Wildcard ? for exactly one character (art? for
  arts, not artist, not artistic)

• Use double quotes A
• Operators AND, OR, NOT
• citrus and juice lemon or lime
  orange not grapefruit
• Proximity operators
• Probably more powerful than needed for most
  searches
