  resources to its vastly diverse population.
  There are numerous town-sponsored (recreational

  families of the community. There is also a large

No Child Left Behind
Overall, student performance on state tests has
improved. Middletown schools continue to make
Adequate Yearly Progress and the percentage of
sophomores meeting goal on all four tests has
risen steadily over the past four years.

Other Opportunities
Middletown is home to Wesleyan University and
Middlesex Community College. Middletown houses
several private and parochial elementary schools,
two parochial high schools and a state vocational
technical high school, Vinal Technical High
School. In addition, the Middletown Annual
Report states that over 3,000 adults enroll in a
variety of Adult Education classes each year.
