  • Wrightsman Galleries
  • The Wrightsman Galleries are a series of period
    rooms that were renovated, reinstalled, and
    re-photographed in 2007-08. This effort was
    supported by donor funds.

  • Greek and Roman Galleries
  • The Greek and Roman Galleries campaign was a
    major reconstruction of departmental galleries,
    including new photography, that was supported by
    a combination of donor, capital, and government
    funds.

  • The American Wing is currently undergoing a major
    reconstruction, providing an opportunity to
    digitally photograph many of the objects removed
    from display, and funded by donor, capital, and
    government funds.

    is a two-volume set documenting all of MMAs 229
    Dutch paintings, funded by the Editorial
    Department.

  • This initiative, currently funded out of donor
    and operating funds, is assessing and digitizing
    selected images from the Keighley Collection,
    comprising 75,000 35mm color slides of mostly
    European art and architecture.

  • This project is in the planning stages, and is
    intended to digitize several thousand historical
    views of the Met, its galleries, events,
    installations, and people, supported by the
    operating budget with possible additional support
    from donor funds.

MMA/ARTstor Images for Academic Publishing
  • MMA and ARTstor developed program to create and
    distribute without fee hi-res images for eligible
    academic publications
  • Currently 6,000 images included in program
  • Funded by MMA operating budget and capital
    project funds and ARTstor operating funds

Kress Collection
  • Kress Foundation, with additional support from
    ARTstor/Mellon, is funding a digital version of
    the entire Kress Collection
  • Kress Collection is approximately 3,100 objects
    dispersed to over 40 US museums
  • Virtual Kress Collection to be available via
    ARTstor, with thumbnails on the Kress site

  • Smithsonian Institution has made selected images
    from all 20 SI libraries available online
  • Currently 10,000 images published, with more
    added regularly
