Honors vs. Standard

• Do you want to be challenged?
• Are you motivated and disciplined to handle the
  extra amount of time spent? Homework load
  35-40 minutes per honors course.
• Do you love to read?
• Do you read well?
• Do you like to write?
• Did I make As on previous coursework in this
  area?
• Do I normally score at the 90 percentile on
  standardized tests such as the MAP and Kansas
  Assessments?
• Can I keep up with the quick pace?

Reading Expeditions

• Students who score below the 40th percentile on
  the MAP and at approaches standard or academic
  warning on the Kansas Assessment in Reading.
• Letters are going out this week from Dr. Krawitz
  if your child needs to enroll in the Reading
  Expeditions class.

Summer School

• See the school district website.
• Enrollment begins February 9.
• 8th graders do not need a counselor signature.
• Freshman can enroll in
• Foundations of PE
• Health
• Art Foundations
• Computer Applications

Graduation Requirements

• 23 total credits (units)
• 4 units of Language Arts
• 3 units of Social Studies
• 3 units of Math
• 3 units of Science
• ½ unit of Computer Applications
• ½ unit of Health
• 1 unit of P.E.
• 1 unit of Fine Arts- see page 58

Kansas Qualified Admissions

• Refer to the back of your enrollment card and
  page 61 of High School Program Planning Guide
• 21 or higher on the ACT composite
• Rank in the top third of your graduating class
• Earn a minimum of 2.0 GPA on the Qualified
  Admissions Pre-college curriculum.
