    communicative burden

    FOR someoneshadowing
  • Be prepared for failure too

  • Speak naturally, normally
  • Speak slowly, be ready to rephrase or repeat
  • Supplement speech with gestures
  • Confirm understanding
  • Maximize nonverbal communication
  • KNOW HEARING STATUS!!
