What is Arthritis?
  • Arthritis comes from the Greek words arthron
    and itis.
  • It means inflammation within a joint.
  • There are many different forms of arthritis.
  • The word arthritis is usually referred to all
    rheumatic diseases.

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia

Symptoms
  • pain and ache in joints after physical work or
    exercise
  • swelling and redness of joints begin to appear
  • stiffness and loss of function in the joints
  • limited movement
  • joints losing its normal shape

  • Cartilage a tough, resilient tissue that covers

  • Rheumatic disease a medical condition that
    causes stiffness and pain in the joints or
    muscles of the body
