The CPU (Central Processing Unit)

• Brains of the computer.
• The most important part of the computer.
• Disks are inserted into the CPU.

The Monitor

• The monitor is the whole box that contains the
  display screen.
• The monitor screen shows what is being worked on.
• The screen saver protects the monitor screen.

• The mouse moves the cursor.
• The mouse can

The Keyboard

• The keyboard is used to type letters, numbers and
  special characters.
• When the Shift key is held down, capital letters
  can be made.
• The Enter key moves down one row.

The Printer

• When you send a file to the printer, it is
  printed as it looks on the screen.
• To print, click File and then Print. You can also
  click the Print button on the toolbar.

• Files can be saved to computer disks.
• Computer disks should be handled carefully.
• Keep magnets away from computer disks.

• A disk drive is where you put a disk so the
  computer can read the information on the disk.
• There are different types of disk drives for
  different types of disks.

  of blank pages, you need software to make the
  computer useful just as you needs words to make a
