- Print What You Want to Print,
- Not What You Dont
2Efficient and Excellent Excel
You can make your Excel spreadsheet fit on the
page without wasting paper.
3Efficient and Excellent Excel
First click on Print Preview to see how the
spreadsheet will look now. Only the first two
columns show this isnt what you want!
4Efficient and Excellent Excel
Go to Page Setup to see how its set.
5Efficient and Excellent Excel
Its set to Portrait orientation and Letter paper
size. That can be changed.
6Efficient and Excellent Excel
Change it to Landscape and Legal. Then go back
to Page Preview to see how it looks.
7Efficient and Excellent Excel
This is better, but the two far-right columns
still arent printing on one page.
8Efficient and Excellent Excel
Scroll down a little and youll see theyre going
to print on a separate page. What a waste of
paper that would be!
9Efficient and Excellent Excel
Fix it by using the Scaling feature in Page
Setup. Since your document is currently too wide
to print on one page, change it to one page wide.
Dont change the tall its okay.
10Efficient and Excellent Excel
Check Print Preview to make sure all your columns
will print now. Yes they will.
11Efficient and Excellent Excel
You look at the second page and notice the column
headings arent displayed. Its a long document,
so your reader might forget what each column
contains.
12Efficient and Excellent Excel
If you want column headings to appear on each
page, first go to Page Setup gt Rows to repeat at
top.
13Efficient and Excellent Excel
Now click on the document icon at the right of
Rows to repeat at top.
14Efficient and Excellent Excel
The program prompts you to enter which rows you
want to repeat at the top of each page.
15Efficient and Excellent Excel
Click on the 1 at the left of the first row to
automatically enter the Rows to repeat at top.
16Efficient and Excellent Excel
Now click on the return to Page Setup icon, where
youre still on the Sheet tab.
17Efficient and Excellent Excel
Click OK.
18Efficient and Excellent Excel
To verify that your pages look the way you want
them to, go to Print Preview and scroll down.
The first row is repeated on each page,
displaying column headers on each page of the
printed spreadsheet. Success!
19Efficient and Excellent Excel
If you decide you dont want to print the entire
document, its easy to print only a selected area.
20Efficient and Excellent Excel
Use the cursor to highlight the area you want to
print
21Efficient and Excellent Excel
Then go to File gt Print Area gt Set Print Area.
22Efficient and Excellent Excel
To verify that youve selected the area you
really want to print, go to Print Preview to see
the portion that will be printed.
23Efficient and Excellent Excel
If you want to clear or reset the print area,
just return to File gt Print Area.
